ONE: MAXIMUM HOLDS AND CHARACTERS First time applicants are only allowed to hold/apply for up to two characters. If both characters are accepted into the game and the player would like to apply for additional characters, at least one activity check must pass before additional holds will be accepted. Following the probation period, the maximum amount of characters allowed per player is PLEASE NOTE: Exceptions may be made if a player is especially active or reliable. Feel free to ask the mods if you're interested in applying for an additional character but have not yet surpassed the activity checks. TWO: ACTIVITY CHECKS Journals must be updated once (or more!) every month. Once a month, an activity check will be posted in the moderator journal and a link to a journal entry for each character must be provided. Any characters without links posted on the activity check will be removed. PLEASE NOTE: If you are inactive with one journal and not with others that you're playing, only the journal you are inactive with will be removed. THREE: JOURNAL UPDATES While journal updates should be frequent, they DON'T have to be extremely long! They can be of varied lengths, but the point is that they give someone something to reply to, as goofy or odd as it may be. Give people a reason for their characters to say something! FOUR: PLAYER INTERACTION AND PROBLEMS If there's any problem with another member of the community, let the mods know! That's what we're here for. Don't try to wait it out or be afraid to get them in trouble; drama and meanness have no place here. We'll have a word with both parties involved and do our best to sort it out, but at the very least, we'll solve the problem, even if it means removing someone. Roleplaying is supposed to be a fun and safe retreat. FIVE: POWERPLAYING AND BALANCING We don't want any powerplayers - talk to the other players about what you want to do in your post and decide what's appropriate. No character can be Head Girl, Quidditch captain AND be getting straight O's to boot, but then again, if a student is failing every class and has absolutely nothing going on in their lives, it's unlikely teachers wouldn't get involved. Nobody's perfect, but very few people never do anything right. Try to find a happy medium and keep things entertaining. SIX: THREAD FORMAT When writing a thread, please use the standard heading as shown below. It just keeps things neat! WHO: SEVEN: PLAYED-BY SELECTION When selecting a Played-By, please make sure there are decently high quality images and icons! In addition, there aren't a whole lot of PBs we'll reject, but keep in mind that if we do, it's probably for a good reason. We reserve the right to reject any Played-By. EIGHT: CHARACTER INDIVIDUALITY Make sure you read and consider the other personalities in the game. Take a good look around first before you decide to apply, and think how to make your character unique and different. Nobody wants to see fifty girls that are unbearably shy or fifty guys who think they're God's gift to women. Do your best to be individual with your characters and keep them interesting. NINE: HELP KEEP AN ACTIVE COMMUNITY As well as updating and threading, we will need your help in keeping things active! What keeps a community active is the commenting on journal threads and acting like normal people - not just characters that we plot around! So reply to the journal entries and do your best to keep things going: and feel free to comment on anyone's journal, whether your character knows them extremely well or if they're total strangers. TEN: WE DON'T BITE! WE PROMISE If you have ANY DOUBTS about whether your plot will majorly affect other characters, or the game as a whole, TALK to the player and TALK to the mods. We're all incredibly nice; we promise! |
